The manhole covers were lifted and the blockage traced back to a section of drain along a tree line. The customer mentioned this had happened on several occasions now and asked if we could investigate further to find the cause of the ongoing problem.

We carried out drain jetting to clear and flush through the system. after the drains were fully cleaned we carried out a full CCTV drain survey of the section close to the trees.

Root ingress was found through out the section of drain that runs under the tree line. As the trees were large established trees, taking the trees out was not an option. We explained to the customer we would need to carry out drain root cutting to get he drainage system back to a serviceable condition.

After the root cut was complete we carried out drain re lining 42 metres to seal the drain and avoid blockages in the future.
